Why doesn’t the device measure insufflation pressures?

Why doesn’t the device measure insufflation pressures? #

• ERC and AHA guidelines do not recommend monitoring the insufflation pressure generated by manual ventilation during a cardiopulmonary reanimation but rather a target tidal volume calculated based on the patient’s height.

• In case of patients with high inspiratory resistance, insufflation pressure may quickly increase to high levels, while tidal volume stays low. As well, monitoring of the inspiratory pressure increases the risk of hypoventilation.
