What parameters are monitored with the EOlife? #
• Insufflated Volume (Vi) – The volume of air/oxygen coming out of the balloon when the rescuer presses it during the ventilation maneuver.
• Tidal Volume (Vt) – The estimated volume of air/oxygen, reaching the patient’s lungs. This is estimated on the measurement of the Insufflated Volume (Vi) and the leaks during insufflation and exhalation (Note : Vt is calculated with artificial intelligence algorithms based on inspiratory and expiratory curves, estimated leakage and airway dead space).
• Ventilation frequency – This is the number of ventilation performed per minute. The calculation of the ventilation frequency is based on the trend of the last cycles.
• The appearance of leaks – The difference between Vi and Vt is the amount of leakage during ventilation. This can be due to a poor mask seal, incorrect tube placement, gastric insufflation (poor airway clearence), or airway obstruction.
