Although I am a medical auxiliary, my passion for airway management research sparks constant curiosity. We often discuss which ventilation device is best suited to the situation, but what if the variability in manual ventilation is the cause of these results, or sometimes the lack of results? Targeted ventilation strategies focus precisely on ventilation. The use of a BVM (Bag-Valve-Mask) is considered a basic skill, but it comes with its own complexities. Since patient care starts with emergency medical services, why not simply become more proficient in using the BVM? Our goal in deploying this device is to optimize performance under stress during our training simulations by providing real-time recordings and individualized feedback. So far, training with EOlife X seems to be the missing link, and I am eager to see how we can positively impact our patients.
