Video – Small bags, big risks

See all posts

To prevent hyperventilation, some companies have been reducing the size of ventilation bags, typically from 1500 mL to 1000 mL. While this practice has the advantage of limiting the maximal insufflated volume and thus reducing the amount of air reaching the lungs, it also has the potential to lead to hypoventilation if leaks are not managed well.

In this video, Stuart Hildage, Archeon’s marketing director, demonstrates how far we can deviate from guideline recommendations when using a small bag.
